A Nuance of Future
(Johan Bengtsson)
I’m driving home through the night
You’re still asleep by my side
I don’t know at all what it means
But the Summer’s still warm in my dream
I look back at things that passed through
Between the dark window and you
When I think of what happened tonight
I can’t keep myself from a smile
We sat all alone by the lake
With nothing but silence to break
You giggled and looked past my eyes
And I kept on laughing beside
Because this is not the only reason
You and I will change tonight
‘Cause I can’t see
Beyond your eyes
And the failures that been told to us
Never seem to make a difference
When you smile
To everything
I told you ’bout my points of view
About the way I look at life
We discussed philosophy
And the psychology behind
We went through books and movies
Written by the saints
And we analysed the sketches
Of some painter that you stained
Then I said that I was curious
Of what you had left behind
Who was this noble healer
Was he in any way my kind
Then you laughed at me again
And said “You seem to think a lot”
And I answered “Yes I do”
“I think a lot, a lot about you”
You emptied the glass and looked out
Over the lake and replied;
“I don’t know at all what you mean
But I think that we’re living a dream”
And if this is not a dream then
I don’t want to fall asleep
‘Cause I don’t know
If I will wake
And I know that nothing changes
Even though that time leaves traces
You’re still here
By my side
I wake up alone in my bed
Nothing was true that was said
I don’t know at all what it means
But it seems I believed in a dream
