Today, the new Lost Shadow single The Next Step has been officially released on iTunes, TuneTribe, Emusic, Amazon. It will soon also arrive to 7digital, Spotify and Bandcamp. The single is released as a digital-only and features fabulous remixes by !PAUS3, DJ Seitz and nYnK, as well as the b-side The Simplicity of Nothing. We personally think that this is one of the hottest tracks of the year, and complemented by three very different remixes and a contrastingly sweet b-side this is a release you shouldn’t miss. The Quandaries and Panaceas remix album Same Problems – Different Solutions has today been digitally released. It is available on iTunes, Amazon, and other digital stores. The physical release will be sold through the Phonocratic Records store at Bandcamp as of Monday next week.

The remix album features a highly diverse collection of excellent remixes by Oraku, Trance Line Project, Scarlett Nina, The Kratz, !PAUS3, Aragorn, Shane Wittig, The Argyle Raver, Nuevo Musica Gente, and Lost Shadow himself. If you prefer to try before you buy, you will be able to do so on Bandcamp as of next Monday, and soon also on Spotify. Stay tuned!

With pleasure we today announce that the Wheels EP is finally released. The observant Lost Shadow fan has already spotted it on iTunes, but it is today available from all the usual Phonocratic Records stores (links below). The EP consists of seven tracks, of which three are new mixes, two have previously appeared on the two versions of Quandaries and Panaceas, and two are completely new songs (Venom and Zwischenzug). We really enjoy this release, and hope that it will inspire you to even more creative entries in the ongoing remix contest.

On a side note, the labelling of the mixes have been slightly screwed up due to a communication error. We cannot change the labelling anymore, so you’ll have to live with the notions of “Short version” on Venom and One man a guitar. There are, however, no long versions recorded of these songs.

The new Lost Shadow album Quandaries and Panaceas is released today, and is available for download from iTunes, Amazon MP3 and CDON. If you prefer to be streaming it, you can do so at Deezer. You can find the links you need at the bottom of this post. This is my most political album to date, featuring an aggressive attack on the ignorance towards today’s and tomorrow’s environmental threats shown by governments, companies and many people. Quandaries and Panaceas is angry, thoughtful, beautiful and filled with hope, all at the same time.

There is two versions of the album, a short (about an hour), and a long (almost two hours of music). The concept for writing the songs was to let them expand for as long as I had ideas for them, and then make shorter, more pop friendly versions. In the end I decided to put out the long versions as well, as they have their own qualities, and provide a deeper understanding of the whole album. I highly recommend using Deezer or Spotify and listen to both versions.

During the week, the album is expected to show up at emusic and 7digital, with a Spotify release date in early December. Very soon, physical copies of the album, in CD format, will be available for order. Also, if you buy a download of the complete album, you can e-mail a copy of the receipt to us to obtain free bonus material (such as a digital booklet).

We are very happy to announce that we have completed deals to distribute Lost Shadow music on iTunes and that two albums has already gone live on the iTunes Store. These albums can be found here:

Juniper and Cinnamon is expected to show up on iTunes next week. We are also on our way to distribute music on Spotify, AmazonMP3, 7digital and CDON.

We are very happy about these deals, but because of our new agreements, some things has changed in our own store. From now on, digital albums will be sold through iTunes (and the above mentioned online music stores). Physical albums will still be available from our own store exclusively. However, no albums will be sold during September, as a consequence of this restructuring process. When the new Lost Shadow album go on sale, the album store will reopen. We no longer sell physical singles, and plan to discontinue the single format completely in a not too distant future. Until then, digital singles will be sold through our own store, or through iTunes (we still need to work out this deal).
