New single: The Next Step

Today, the new Lost Shadow single The Next Step has been officially released on iTunes, TuneTribe, Emusic, Amazon. It will soon also arrive to 7digital, Spotify and Bandcamp. The single is released as a digital-only and features fabulous remixes by !PAUS3, DJ Seitz and nYnK, as well as the b-side The Simplicity of Nothing. We personally think that this is one of the hottest tracks of the year, and complemented by three very different remixes and a contrastingly sweet b-side this is a release you shouldn’t miss. Remix album “Same Problems – Different Solutions” released

The Quandaries and Panaceas remix album Same Problems – Different Solutions has today been digitally released. It is available on iTunes, Amazon, and other digital stores. The physical release will be sold through the Phonocratic Records store at Bandcamp as of Monday next week.

The remix album features a highly diverse collection of excellent remixes by Oraku, Trance Line Project, Scarlett Nina, The Kratz, !PAUS3, Aragorn, Shane Wittig, The Argyle Raver, Nuevo Musica Gente, and Lost Shadow himself. If you prefer to try before you buy, you will be able to do so on Bandcamp as of next Monday, and soon also on Spotify. Stay tuned!

The Wheels EP released

With pleasure we today announce that the Wheels EP is finally released. The observant Lost Shadow fan has already spotted it on iTunes, but it is today available from all the usual Phonocratic Records stores (links below). The EP consists of seven tracks, of which three are new mixes, two have previously appeared on the two versions of Quandaries and Panaceas, and two are completely new songs (Venom and Zwischenzug). We really enjoy this release, and hope that it will inspire you to even more creative entries in the ongoing remix contest.

On a side note, the labelling of the mixes have been slightly screwed up due to a communication error. We cannot change the labelling anymore, so you’ll have to live with the notions of “Short version” on Venom and One man a guitar. There are, however, no long versions recorded of these songs.

Quandaries and Panaceas on Spotify

I am happy to announce that Quandaries and Panaceas has found its way into Spotify since a couple of days ago. In addition, we also have released the physical packages of the album through the Bandcamp store. The CDs will cost €20 plus shipping, regardless of whether you order the long or the short version. Single release: There

The second Lost Shadow single taken from the forthcoming album Quandaries and Panaceas has been released today. The song is called There and is a ballad about not forgetting the good times in life. It has been described as a “chill” song, and I can only agree.

The single features the radio mix of the song, as well as a handsup radio mix by Shane Wittig. As a b-side, a club remix of the song The turning point, also taken from Quandaries and Panaceas is included. In addition, there are remixes by The Argyle Raver and Aragorn featured on the single, which can be downloaded from Bandcamp. To have a listen to the single, use the player below.

My personal feeling is that this song very much complements the previous single (The problem with democracy) in describing the sound of Quandaries and Panaceas, which is aimed for a late October release. I would like to thank the remixers who have done a terrific work on this track!

We are very happy to announce that we have completed deals to distribute Lost Shadow music on iTunes and that two albums has already gone live on the iTunes Store. These albums can be found here:

Juniper and Cinnamon is expected to show up on iTunes next week. We are also on our way to distribute music on Spotify, AmazonMP3, 7digital and CDON.

We are very happy about these deals, but because of our new agreements, some things has changed in our own store. From now on, digital albums will be sold through iTunes (and the above mentioned online music stores). Physical albums will still be available from our own store exclusively. However, no albums will be sold during September, as a consequence of this restructuring process. When the new Lost Shadow album go on sale, the album store will reopen. We no longer sell physical singles, and plan to discontinue the single format completely in a not too distant future. Until then, digital singles will be sold through our own store, or through iTunes (we still need to work out this deal).

A Nuance of Future single released

The new Lost Shadow single “A Nuance of Future” has been released. A Nuance of Future is the second single taken from the Lost Shadow ten year anniversary album “Age and Time“. This time, we have put together a maxi-single of over 70 minutes, consisting of 11 tracks. On top of long and short modern versions of A Nuance of Future, the single also includes the five winners of the Lost Shadow remix contest (Jason & Sander, DJ Alann Morse, Shane Wittig, stróm, and The Argyle Raver), as well as remixes by The Trance Line Project and Lost Shadow himself. We think this single is terrific, and suggest immediate downloading or ordering of it!

You can listen to the single at either Last.fm or Bandcamp. At Bandcamp you can also order a physical copy of the single, as well as downloading it. You could also use the player at the bottom of this post.

We also sadly announce that this will be the last single (at least for a long time) that is made available in physical format for ordering. In the future, Phonocratic Records’ singles will be released only in digital format, with printable booklets for those of you who want a physical copy in the shelf. We think of this as a necessary move to keep costs down, and hope that our reasoning is understandable. The whole store is going through some changes in the near future, which you will see soon.
