New single released: The Problem With Democracy
A new Lost Shadow single, called The Problem With Democracy has been released today. This breathtaking take on politics marks the first song taken form the forthcoming Lost Shadow album, due for release in Autumn this year. I am very happy with this song, and I think that it is a good first taste of what will come on the next album. Also included on the single is the b-side Toltorpsdalen, as well as remixes by House Mouse and the Trance Line Project.
The single is available for download from Bandcamp. As usual, the radio version of the song is, of course, free. As you might have noticed earlier, it will not be possible to order this single in physical format (due to low demand for previous physical single releases). However, if you would like to have it on CD, buy the digital release on Bandcamp (it’s only €1), download it in a high-quality format, burn it to CD and print the PDF-cover that comes with the full version of the single release.
And in case you wonder why it took so long time, as the single was scheduled to be released earlier this month, we chose to reject the first two versions of the mastering, to get a superb experience of this new Lost Shadow material. Enjoy!
A Nuance of Future single released
The new Lost Shadow single “A Nuance of Future” has been released. A Nuance of Future is the second single taken from the Lost Shadow ten year anniversary album “Age and Time“. This time, we have put together a maxi-single of over 70 minutes, consisting of 11 tracks. On top of long and short modern versions of A Nuance of Future, the single also includes the five winners of the Lost Shadow remix contest (Jason & Sander, DJ Alann Morse, Shane Wittig, stróm, and The Argyle Raver), as well as remixes by The Trance Line Project and Lost Shadow himself. We think this single is terrific, and suggest immediate downloading or ordering of it!
You can listen to the single at either Last.fm or Bandcamp. At Bandcamp you can also order a physical copy of the single, as well as downloading it. You could also use the player at the bottom of this post.
We also sadly announce that this will be the last single (at least for a long time) that is made available in physical format for ordering. In the future, Phonocratic Records’ singles will be released only in digital format, with printable booklets for those of you who want a physical copy in the shelf. We think of this as a necessary move to keep costs down, and hope that our reasoning is understandable. The whole store is going through some changes in the near future, which you will see soon. Stay tuned!
Age and Time – The Megamix
The megamix I made for the Age and Time album has now been added to the album on last.fm. The megamix was not released at the same time as the rest of Age and Time, for two reasons. First, and most important, it wasn’t finished in time. Second, it would have made the album too long to fit on a single CD. But now it is released, in digital form, the 15 minute Age and Time Megamix. Enjoy it as a Christmas present, a New Years gift, or simply as a great piece of mashed-up music.
Age and Time released

The new Lost Shadow album And and Time is released today. This twelve track album is a celebration of the ten years of Lost Shadow records, and thus consists of one track from each of these years. In addition to these eleven tracks there is also a new track called Living, which is based on another old Lost Shadow track… All songs on the album has been rearranged and remixed to some extent, so Age and Time offers something new for everybody, and excellently summarises these 10 Lost Shadow years! The album can be downloaded from last.fm.
Age and Time
The ten years anniversary album released on the 18th of November 2009.
Age and Time was released to celebrate the ten year anniversary of the release of the first Lost Shadow recording (a single called Lost and Found). The album consists of 12 tracks, one for each year Lost Shadow has been active, plus one additional sum-up track. The goal of the album was to remake the songs so that they sound more modern, and offers something new even for the long time Lost Shadow listener. The focus on the album is highly electronic, capturing the major part of Lost Shadow’s career. The degree of changes made to the original tracks varies, but you who are used to specific versions of Lost Shadow songs are in for some surprises…
